Two high-profile positions within the city of Bryan are up for grabs, and interviews begin next week. That's after finalists were named Friday for both the chief of police and the newly created public works director position.
The search for the new Bryan police chief has produced five finalists:
-Tomball Police Chief Michael Blake
-Omaha Nebraska Deputy Chief Eric Buske
-Bryan Assistant Chief Freddie Komar
-Major Tyrone Morrow of the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department
-Walter Stewart, an adjunct instructor with the Texas Engineering Extension Service
Interviews are scheduled next Wednesday, June 20.
Meanwhile, three finalists have been named for the new Bryan Public Works Director job:
- William Bergman is the interim director of Public Service in Lansing, Michigan.
- Linda Huff is the current Bryan city engineer and holds the public works director's job on an interim basis.
- Stephen Jenkins is a Dallas-based engineering consultant.
Interviews for the public works director candidates begin on Monday.
