A College Station man was arrested Saturday after police say he injured his live-in girlfriend and their dog.
Police say William Blundell, 20, struck his girlfriend in the head and face inside their apartment in the 400 block of University Oaks.
Police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. Saturday in reference to a civil disturbance. When officers arrived they say Blundell's girlfriend said she had been assaulted.
Police say they then found Blundell passed out on the floor, covered in blood. When he woke up, police say Blundell told them he and his girlfriend had gotten into a fight and that he had hit her. Police say Blundell also said during the argument his pet pit bull had bitten him in the face.
Blundell allegdly attacked the dog in retaliation, cutting it with a sword. Animal Control took the dog into custody and will test it for rabies.
Blundell was charged with Class A Assault.
