COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas A&M University System this week became the state's first to post expenditures online.
It's a move designed to meet state comptroller Susan Combs' plan for greater transparency in tax dollar spending.
The posted reports include salaries, employee benefits and other expenditures for fiscal years 2005 through 2007. The information summarizes expenditures from the system's offices, its nine universities, seven agencies and the Texas A&M Health Sciene Center.
A&M says the reports will be updated quarterly.
