A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect until midnight for Lee County. Strong thunderstorms will continue to be possible, across the Brazos Valley, this evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity.Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
With more rain expected in North Texas, members of Texas Task Force 1 have deployed to Cooke County.
On Monday, Governor Rick Perry authorized the activation of state resources, including the College Station-based task force. Two water rescue teams consisting of 15 members are on standby in the Gainesville area, which sustained devastating flooding a week ago.
Forecasters predict more heavy rain throughout the week.
