Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, Saturday afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
It didn't take long for Texas Task Force 1 to make its presence felt. Less than a day after Tuesday's deployment, the Elite Rescue Team was already busy saving lives.
By Wednesday, the Task Force had already performed or assisted with rescues in Marble Falls and Burnet along with Williamson and Lampasas Counties.
Wednesday afternoon, a group of Task Force members was sent to Smithwick where 24 people were stranded.
Another team was dispatched to Inks Lake where rising lake levels threatened residents.
