Grief counselors are on hand at The Colony after a 9-year-old boy was found hanged in the bathroom in an apparent suicide.

Police say the fourth-grader was found by school staff at Stewart's Creek Elementary School yesterday afternoon.

Lt. Darren Brockway said the boy "had reportedly hung himself in a bathroom" and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Autopsy results are pending with the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.

Police are investigating the circumstances of Montana Lance's death but say they don't expect any criminal charges.

The school district confirmed the basics of the incident but declined further comment out of respect for the family's privacy. It is sending a letter home with students.

The Colony is about 20 miles north of Dallas.

I think it definitely could've been the "choking game", considering tv just got done just last week demonstrating a similar type of thing on a popular tv series. If that is the case I think parents should be more cautious of what their children are viewing whether it is cyber or television!!!!!!

It makes me sick to see that suicides are starting younger and younger. I lost 4 classmates in high school due to suicide. I can't imagine what a fourth grader could possibly have been going through or why he felt he was worthless and unloved enough to take his own life. I hope that this child's death will wake up the parents who "just don't have time" for their children. If you won't help your own kid, who will? Teachers can only do so much during their time at school. It is ultimately up to the parent to be there for their child and try to get them help. I am praying for comfort for this child's family and classmates, and that if wrong was done, they will become aware of it and change their ways to prevent something like this in the future.

Parents, friends, teachers... everyone!!!! PLEASE reach out to our children. Listen to them, and get those who needs it help. Dont just put it off as "the child/student is only looking for attention!" You could be the reason to save one of our children from such a dreadful and premature end. If we do not reach out our hands and ears, noone else will!!! It only takes a few minutes, and most are only looking for an understanding ear! Someone to actually show an interest!!!! SO SAD!!! :~(
