CARTHAGE, Texas (AP) - The Department of Defense says a soldier from Carthage died in Iraq last week when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.
Specialist James Lee Adair, 26, assigned to the First Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. He died Friday in Baghdad.
Adair attended Carthage schools and played football there.
He and Chelsea Nation married July 15. Their first child is expected
Jimmy Adair of Harlingen tells the Longview News-Journal his son had been growing up with his military service and believed in what he was doing.
Besides his wife and father, he is survived by his mother, Risa Adair, of Carthage, and a sister, Amanda Townsend, of Fair Play.
