Dozens of area women gathered Tuesday to raise awareness of heart disease, the number one killer of women.
The Go Red Luncheon is a way to celebrate the women in our community, as well as join in the fight against heart disease and stroke. All proceeds go to the American Heart Association.
Former First Lady Barbara Bush was the guest speaker. She had heart surgery a year ago.
Tuesday Mrs. Bush gave women tips on living a happy and healthy life.
"It does not matter what stage of life you are in," Bush said. "It's important for all of us to remember what's really, truly important in your lives. For us it's faith, family and friends."
Go Red also provided an opportunity for women to inspire each other to live a more heart healthy life.
