A memorial service in College Station has tentatively been set for July 21 for a former local resident who was murdered in Ohio. Family members of Bruce Anderson, 30, said a funeral service will be conducted first in Ohio. They will then return with his remains to College Station for the memorial service and burial.
Anderson was one of three people fatally shot early Thursday morning at an after-hours house party in a Cleveland suburb. Police say a total of five were shot by an off-duty Cleveland firefighter who lived next door. Authorities say Terrance Hough, Jr., 35, became enraged when party guests began setting off fireworks. Witnesses say Hough approached the party, yelled an expletive and began firing.
Anderson and another guest were apparently sitting in chairs with their backs to Hough when they were mortally wounded. He and two others were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining two shooting victims were treated at a local hospital.
Anderson lived in College Station from 1998-2004. Family members describe him as a kind, considerate individual with many talents and many friends.
