RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (AP) - Richland Hills police have arrested the grandmother of an infant boy who tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine and other drugs.
48-year-old Janna Beau was taken into custody Monday on suspicion of abandoning or endangering a child. Bond was set at $3,500.
Authorities say Beau knew drugs were in her home in April and allowed her then 9-month-old grandson to be around them.
Police plan to arrest the boy's 21-year-old mother, Whitney Walker, on similar charges.
Walker is accused of bringing the drugs to her mother's home.
The child was taken to the hospital after responding slowly. Lab tests found amphetamine, methamphetamine, caffeine, nicotine, a cough suppression drug and prescription antihistamines in his system.
The boy and his sister were removed from the home and remain in foster care.
