A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Lee county through this evening. Rain & thunderstorms will continue to be possible for the Brazos Valley, through the overnight hours. Severe thunderstorms cannot be ruled out -- damaging winds, large hail, and even an isolated tornado threat will need to be monitored.
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (AP) - Fishermen have discovered the body of an Army soldier who apparently drowned while trying to swim the swollen Guadalupe River.
Specialist Bryan D. Brosemer, of Utica, New York, was found near a railroad bridge by two fishermen Tuesday.
The 26-year-old was swept away Saturday when he was with a group of soldiers who attempted to swim across the river. At the time, the river was flowing at four times the safe tubing level.
Brosemer had been stationed at Fort Hood.
