Normangee Fills Final Vacancy on City Council

The Normangee city council is back to full strength. New Mayor Jay Traylor announced Tuesday that former city council member Louise Lewis has accepted an invitation to return to the governing body.

It was one of Traylor's first mayoral actions since being promoted to the city's highest office Monday night. Traylor's advancement came after former Mayor Tim Taylor resigned June 26.

Lewis, 61, is no stranger to Normangee politics. She served three years on the city council before being unseated in May by only two votes. Lewis said she is honored to be invited back to work at city hall.
