Students at Texas A&M have several methods of transportation to choose from when it comes to getting to class.

From the Aggie Spirit, to cars, bikes and even motorcycles, options are out there. But one Aggie is turning heads with his wheels and it's earned him quite the reputation on campus.

When you first see what Aggie Michael Riemer drives around campus it makes you think, man I wish we had that when I was in college.

You see, it's a combination of cooler and scooter and it's turned the sophomore into an iconic figure here in the Brazos Valley, simply known as the cooler guy.

"A lot of people that know me but haven't seen me ride the cooler, when they find out it's me, they freak out. Like, oh my God, you're Cooler Guy? No way!" said Riemer of his popularity.

What started out as a goofy idea to ride around campus, has turned Riemer into a celebrity of sorts.

"Gives me chills actually. Every time I see him rolling, it just gives me chills," said A&M student Adam Moore.

By simply driving a motorized cooler Michael is one of the most recognized students on campus.

Even Mark Turgeon has had his picture taken with the cooler guy. But his popularity doesn't stop there.

"I've actually got some marriage proposals, which is kind of scary," said Riemer.

Just like any other celebrity, the cooler guy has had a run in with the law. He was ticketed for having an unregistered vehicle by the Texas A&M police but this time the law didn't win.

"I went to the court house and they asked me how I plead. I said not guilty so they set a court date for me and I got a letter in the mail that said the State of Texas vs. Michael Riemer and it basically said they gave up," said Riemer.

Now you won't find any drinks in the cooler guy's cooler, simply his books and papers.

"I usually don't keep drinks in it, because people would probably ask me for them," said Riemer.

But Riemer will be asking for the student body vote when he runs for junior yell.

"Hopefully I can just put a face to the cooler guy name and attach my name to it and hopefully people will vote for me," said Riemer

Now if you're in the market for a Cruzin Cooler, it'll set you back anywhere from $300 to $800. But if you go through the Cooler Guy, he says he can get you a 30 percent discount.
