The donations from a barbeque fundraiser for College Station Police Officer Tracy Sheets have been totaled. More than $17,000 was raised at the benefit held Friday at Veterans Park. Hundreds of people from across the Brazos Valley, and as far as Harris and Waller counties attended a barbeque fundraiser.
More than a month ago, Officer Sheets was injured after her patrol vehicle was hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver. Since the accident Officer Sheets has undergone several surgeries and is learning how to walk again. Police say the suspected drunk driver, Alex Ford, had a blood alcohol level that was more than twice the legal limit.

Shouldn't the other driver's insurance be picking up the tab? What about workman's comp? I am delighted that Officer Sheets is recovering and that she is looking forward to returning to her career in law enforcement.
im just wondering why the girl who caused this accident couldnt pay for it. i pray for the officer and her family as she recovers.
Officer Sheets...you were just doing your job. Now the community is just doing their job too! Thank you so much for your sacrifice. I pray your recovery is everything you want it to be!
