SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A zookeeper who was attacked by a male tiger at the San Antonio Zoo has been upgraded to stable condition.
A zoo spokeswoman says 28-year-old Jeff Tierney was attacked Saturday and remains in an intensive care unit.
Tierney was alone in the tiger exhibit with the animal, and several people witnessed the attack, the spokeswoman said.
The zoo was closed after the attack but reopened yesterday.
The 5-year-old tiger named Berani is one of two Sumatran tigers at the zoo. The other is female.
