RUSK, Texas (AP) - Rain and flooding in East Texas have halted train rides on the Texas State Railroad.
All scheduled trains have been suspended on a week-to-week basis
until repairs to a damaged track are completed.
Severe flooding damaged a portion of the tracks between Maydelle
and Rusk last week. State railroad officials say an embankment
supporting the track was washed out.
The Texas State Railroad will contact those with paid reservations if their date has been canceled.
The railroad travels between Palestine and Rusk, where recent rains dropped more than seven inches of rain last week.
