A suspect in a 2006 murder arrived back in Brazos County Friday night after being extradited from Louisiana.
Artis Lee Pollard, 26, was arrested in New Orleans Wednesday morning on a warrant issued February 18 Brazos County for the murder of Terrell McCoy and the wounding of Xavier Young, 20, on December 23, 2006.
McCoy and Young were shot at a home on Silver Hill Road near Highway 21 West of Bryan.
Sheriff's Officials said the residence was being used as a gambling house when three armed male suspects attempted a robbery.
All three suspects were wearing bandannas to disguise their faces.
Police said one of the suspects shot McCoy and Young with a handgun.
Investigators processed the crime scene and collected blood samples found in the house. The DPS crime lab analyzed the blood and determined that one was from a source other than the two victims.
Through leads in the investigation the name of Artis Pollard came up as a possible suspect. Sheriff's Investigators worked with DPS and the Washington County Sheriff's Office to obtain items from the suspect that could be compared with the DNA profile of the blood found at the scene. Lab analysis of the item confirmed a match with the blood sample.
Pollard is a former resident of New Orleans and had been living in Brenham. Over the weekend, authorities conducted an extensive search for Pollard in Washington County and Burleson County.
Information was obtained that Pollard had fled the area and returned to New Orleans. With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office, Pollard was located and arrested in New Orleans.

I'm with "Barber Shop" on this one. The guy that gave him that haircut needs to be in jail too. If it's not illegal to give someone a haircut like that, it certainly should be.
Good Job Cops! There is one less murdering coward on the streets. Who gave him that funny looking haircut?
Wow, congratulations Investigator Martinez! I recall this case and know that you and your fellow co-workers have put a lot of time and effort into this case. Thanks for your diligence and effort!
