An arrest warrant charging Aggravated Assault was issued Wednesday for Reuben Lopez, 23, whom Waco police are seeking after three women were doused with gasoline and set on fire during a domestic disturbance.
The warrant stems from an incident that occurred before the women were burned, police said, but Lopez is also sought in connection with the attack on the three.
Police said the incident started with as an argument between a man and his mother at a home in the 3600 block of Grim.
The man pulled a knife on his mother, police said, and then doused her and two other women who came to her aid with gasoline and set them on fire.
One of the victims was the man’s aunt, police said.
The three women, whose names were not released, were taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and then transferred to the burn unit at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Police believe the man was also burned.
