Closing arguments are set for 8 a.m. Wednesday in the murder trial of a local Marine.
Ronald Johnson Jr., 26, is also charged with aggravated assault in connection with the stabbing of twin brothers during a Northgate bar fight in 2007. Jonathan Bailey was killed in the altercation while Janson Bailey was wounded.
Police say the brothers were fighting another man outside the V-Bar when Johnson came to the aid of that person. During the scuffle, Johnson allegedly pulled out his pocket knife and stabbed the brothers.
If convicted of murder, he could get up to life in prison. Aggravated assault carries a penalty of 2-20 years.

He was found Not Guilty.
Thank you, Zech Swendsen. While it was quite some years ago, I also received the same Marine Corps training in the use of deadly force. While I was not present at the attack in question, the facts that I have seen in the media indicate to me that Mr. Johnson was justified in his use of deadly force to save his friend's life. That being said, none of us reading about this here have access to all of the evidence that the jury has. One of the things that Mr. Johnson, his Marine brother, and I served to protect was the right to a fair jury trial. I will await the jury's decision, and pray for all involved.
