Business Elite Go Behind Bars For Good Cause

More than 100 of the Twin Cities' business elite were put behind bars for a good cause Thursday morning.

The jailbirds were locked up for the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Telethon Executive Lock-up to help raise money for the MDA and Jerry's Kids.

However, there were no get out of jail free cards at the event. Inmates worked hard to raise their bail money in an effort to help the telethon raise money to fight muscular dystrophy.

"We couldn't do all that we do without the support of local communities like Bryan and College Station," MDA District Director Carrie Dalton said. "We had over 20-plus volunteers here today helping to make this happen."

Officials are hoping to raise more than $80,000 in this year's lock-up event, which was held at the Outback Steakhouse in College Station.
