Scientists may have figured out why the sunshine vitamin, vitamin D, is essential to good health. Researchers say the vitamin helps activate T-cells, a key part of the immune system that helps fight off infection and disease. The study found a lack of vitamin D can keep those T-cells dormant.

The complete study information was published in the latest edition of the Scientific Journal of Nature Immunology. The original study is available here. Special access may be required.

Actually Luke, McCain is pushing a bill that will severely limit our access to over-the-counter vitamins and supplements. I don't like Obama, but you sound ridiculous when you try to blame him for everything. The reality is there are plenty of Republicans leading us down the same road as the Democrats. McCain is no Republican or conservative. Look at the legislation he submits. Amnesty, Campaign Finance Reform, etc. Don't protect the bad Republicans. They don't deserve it.

"Now we have people like John McCain that want to take away our rights to vitamins." No, it's Mr Obama who wants to do that, along with all other things (like sugary drinks) that he "knows" aren't "right" for us.
