Two Liberty County sheriff's deputies were taken to hospitals early Tuesday after they were shot in a southeast Texas neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 6 a.m. Tuesday in the Woodland Hills subdivision, which is about 5 miles north of Dayton and 40 miles northeast of Houston.
The Liberty County Sheriff's Office said both deputies were taken to hospitals, but said their injuries weren't thought to be life-threatening.
Both were wearing protective vests.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear, and no arrests have been made, but a special-tactics unit from Baytown was dispatched to the scene, 25 miles northeast of Baytown.
