If you've been filling up with gas anytime with in the last few weeks, you have noticed the rising price of gasoline. Here in Bryan College Station, some gas stops have raised their prices up to 20 cents.
But the Energy Department says don't expect prices to stop there. They still project pump prices to climb past $3 per gallon as more motorists hit the road in the spring and summer seasons.
In a report released Tuesday the Energy Information
Administration says for the full year, it sees a national average
price of $2.84 per gallon, up from an average price of $2.35 per
gallon in 2009.
The EIA expects oil prices to average above $80 per barrel this
spring, rising to an average of about $82 per barrel by the end of
the year and to $85 per barrel by the end of 2011.

"some of the prices are only hours old. $2.39-$2.53.. which is about .20 cheaper than the Shell near my home." And a full .30 cheaper than the Exxon at Rock Praire and Wellborne...But how do they compare to Kroger and Sams with card? You keep comparing the CHEAPEST price that only locals who know where to look (or folks who can look it up on their G3 smartphones) can find in Houston with prices that the stations along the major streets are charging here (like the ones along 610 there). Compare Apples to Apples, anon. Also, QUERY to the world: do the stations in Houston still get the ethanol discount because they are in the Ozone control zone? That was 12 cents a gallon as I remember...
(("I just talked to someone in Houston and they paid $2.45 for gas." When and where? I paid 2.49 at Kroger with discount last Thursday, but when I ran to the Rodeo and back on Sunday, even the Luvs around Hockley was 2.59 and all the others along 610 and 290 were higher. And Austin is ALWAYS cheaper because that's where the lawmakers live (try to bite the RRC and they bite back). And San Antonio around 10 and 410 on the east side are always super cheap as well (haven't figured out why on that one...)) check out the website. I just looked it up.. http://www.texasgasprices.com/GasPriceSearch.aspx enter Houston, Texas some of the prices are only hours old. $2.39-$2.53.. which is about .20 cheaper than the Shell near my home.
