The sunny skies made the perfect backdrop for afternoon tea.
The Health Science Center's 5th Magnolia Tea highlights research at the College of Medicine. This year, First Lady of Texas Anita Perry was the featured speaker. Perry was educated as a nurse and spent 17 years in health care. One lucky student is chosen for a scholarship.
Lisa Chapa, the scholarship recipient, said, "It's an incredible award, but I feel honored that I was the recipient and hopefully I can share that with some of my classmates."
For the second year, the tea was held at Reed House, which is the official home of the Texas A&M University System Chancellor Mike McKinney and his wife.
