Some big changes to the LaSalle Hotel are about ready to be unveiled. A grand opening is set for March 26 to introduce the LaSalle's new look.
It will showcase the $600,000 interior and exterior renovations that have taken place over the last several months. Among the new amenities: a reworked lobby area, bar, sidewalk cafe, and new color schemes and flat screens for guest rooms.
The changes are under the direction of the Magnolia Group which was hired by the city in September to take over management of the hotel.

More than 10 years later and now another renovation, and still loosing money. What a way to run a business, better yet, way to run a city. I wonder if the city councilmen run their businesses that way. That may explain why their professions[real estate and land developers]always get the tax breaks.

The one thing that will have to change here is the price, if you want this hotel full each and every weekend they are going to have to come up with some specials and do away with the $150.00 room rates on weekends. I can get a hotel in downtown Austin for less most weekends, including gasoline cost, with a lot more to do there than in downtown Bryan or the surrounding community
