One person is in custody and the school has resumed normal operations after a standoff ends in Iola.
The sheriff's office tells News 3 Billy Jack Kessinger, wanted by authorities after an alleged domestic violence incident in Iola refused to leave his home near Hillsboro and Colorado Streets. He claimed to have a weapon and said he would not leave the home without a fight.
No other people were believed to be in the home.
As a result of this, Iola's school superintendent locked down the schools there as a precaution. The schools are within a few blocks of the home in question.
Grimes County Deputies broke down the front door of Kessinger mobile home, stormed his house and arrested him without incident.
Kessinger has had several run ins with the law. Several similar to Thursday's incident.
