BRYAN -- Bryan native Ty Warren has decided his education and being an example for his children are more important than a $250,000 offseason workout bonus he would have been paid by the New England Patriots.
Warren, a 2003 first round pick out of Texas A&M, told ESPN he has always planned on coming back to school to finish his degree.
"I try to put the kids in the best educational system possible and I think there is something to be said for their father, who has been blessed to play in the NFL and do something he's loved to do, going back and finishing what he started. In the big picture, I think it's important for me to do what I'm doing. I can sacrifice that bonus for that."
This will be the first offseason that Warren will not attend any part of the Patriots program.

Bill...you're an idiot
To Bill: As I understand it, Ty would soon lose many of his credit hours (time running out) if he didn't continue right now. He'd practically have to start over again. He's made the smart decision. His current salary can handle the hit by skipping the off season this time around.
WAY TO GO, TY! Now that's a REAL Man! You will teach your children that it's more honorable to finish what you start and that money isn't everything. I always thought that Vince Young should have stayed in school and finished.
