FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A manhunt is under way for an armed Hood County Jail escapee who shot at police and a federal agent trying to recapture him.
Jason Lee Johnston remains at large after escaping from jail and is considered armed and dangerous.
Johnston and a second escapee, Cleties Matthew Conley, were reported missing from the jail in Granbury Saturday morning. Conley has since been recaptured.
The pair made their way to Fort Worth, where Johnston exchanged gunfire with an ATF agent who was participating in the search. No one was hurt. Johnston also apparently fired a shot in the direction of police.
Conley surrendered after a short care chase, but Johnston was able to escape.
