A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Lee, and Leon Counties from 12am to 12pm THURSDAY. A strong cold front will reach the Brazos Valley by mid-afternoon to early evening TODAY. Mild temperatures are expected to sharply fall as strong, brisk north winds arrive. A scattered rain chance could turn into a scattered, wintry mix between 6am and Noon Thursday. Little-to-no accumulation is expected -- however, caution is urged driving on bridges and overpasses.
Officials with the Texas Department of Transportation say northbound Texas Avenue truck and bus traffic will not be allowed to make left turns at FM 2818 during this latest phase of construction.
The work, which started early Monday, is phase one of a project that will occur in two stages. Crews will install concrete pavement for the intersection, and the Texas Avenue northbound and southbound left turn lanes.
The intersection at Texas Avenue/FM 2818 is not a full closure; however, all thru movements and left turns at Texas Avenue will
be restricted to one lane for both eastbound and westbound FM 2818
In addition to the recent update restricting truck and bus northbound traffic on Texas Avenue, southbound Texas Avenue traffic is also restricted from making left turns at FM 2818.
Eastbound FM 2818 truck and bus traffic is restricted from making left turns at Texas Avenue.
Work on this intersection is scheduled for completion this Friday, August 3rd, weather permitting.
