For the second time in a week, an attempted capital murder trial in Madisonville has been postponed. The trial of Floyd Tubbs was supposed to start Monday after being pushed back July 24.

Tubbs is accused of attempting to shoot a Madison County deputy following a high speed chase last July. That chase originated in Buffalo where Tubbs robbed a couple at gunpoint and stole their car. He's currently serving 60 years in prison for that crime.

Last week's postponement was due to the defense attorney having out of town business. Monday's cancellation came after the defense attorney said he was sick. The trial has now been re-scheduled for September 17.
