College Station police are reporting that a teenager has died in a major accident at Copperfield Drive and University Drive.
Lauren Landmark, 16, of Bryan, was killed in the accident.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Police say a Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Landmark, was headed south on Copperfield Drive. The car collided with a Ford pickup headed west on University Drive.
Details on what caused the crash are not known at this time.
Shelby Landmark, 13, of Bryan and Shaylynn McClendon, 13, of Bryan, were passengers in the Grand Am. They survived the crash and have been taken to the College Station Medical Center.
Authorities say the driver of the pickup, 26-year-old James Young, of College Station, was injured in the accident and has also been taken to the Med, while a single passenger in the truck, Chase McCauley, was unharmed.
Following the wreck, officers reconstructed the accident and closed the area of University Drive and Copperfield Drive. The roadway was reopened around 9:30 p.m.
Officials say Young and McClendon were both treated and released from College Station Medical Center Wednesday evening. Landmark is expected to be released before Thursday.
An official with Bryan I.S.D. says counselors will be on hand Thursday at Rudder High School. Students and staff needing someone to talk to can arrive at the school cafeteria starting at 10 a.m.
