College Station police received a call about an animal bite around 2:30 p.m. Friday. The incident happened at 300 Park Road. The identity of the victim has not been released by police. Police say the victim was bitten by a small male brown dog with floppy ears.

The dog is described as “Benji-like”, and possibly a Cairn Terrier or Jack Russell Terrier mix. The owner of the dog is described as acollege-aged white female with brown hair.

College Station Animal Control is asking the public for help to locate the dog so that rabies exposure to the victim can be ruled out. When located, the dog will need to be observed for ten days from the time of the bite for signs of rabies infection. This will prevent the victim from possibly needing post-exposure rabies vaccinations. If you have any information regarding this case, please call 979-764-3600.

i frequent this park and the only problem i have is parents letting kids inside the dog areas. I am saying the little girl getting bit is not right but if she was in the dog park area it might of been preventable. little dogs and kids dont always mix. i frequently have problems with parents allowing the children to go into small dog park area without suppervision and just cause a dog is small does not mean it is ok for children to approach it. It is a terrible incodent that happend but might of been preventable. i think they should make a rule(like the parks in dallas) that children are not allowed in dog park. also i saw a dog that matched the the describtion at the park yesterday and was beeing very aggressive towards all animals in park. If you have an aggressive animal dont bring them to a public setting. people need to use there head.....just common sense

The story tells you why. So that little girl doesn't have to go through that series of god awlful shots. Nothing will happen to the dog after quarentine. (If it's not rabbid.
