It appears a red light runner is to blame for a major accident Monday that killed one man, injured two people, and tied up traffic in College Station.
At approximately 3:30 p.m., the driver of a Dodge pickup truck ignored the stop signal at the intersection of Harvey Road and the feeder of Earl Rudder Freeway and hit a Mercury Grand Marquis sedan, according to police.
Three people were taken to the College Station Medical Center.
The driver of the Mercury, 76-year-old Herbert Wayne Morton of Rockdale, died around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
His passenger, 69-year-old Lottijane Morton, was treated and released. The driver of the truck, Cody James Arnold, 21, of College Station was also treated and released.
No charges have been filed, pending an investigation by College Station police.
