ERCOT Expects Record-Setting Energy Demand

AUSTIN -- Officials expect high demand for electricity Monday as temperatures in parts of Texas already topped 100 by early afternoon.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says it's ready. No problems are expected in meeting demand.

The peak demand record for the ERCOT region happened last August 17.

ERCOT manages the flow of electric power to millions of customers representing about three-fourths of the state's land area.
