If you're hoping to cash in on the $8,000 home buyer tax credit, you've got until midnight today to sign a contract on a house.
Margie Stibora with Ashford Square Realty will be working a late night as clients try to wrap up negotiations on home purchases.
The last month has been extremely busy for area realtors as last minute home buyers tried to get in on the free cash.
The program has been so successful for realtors that some wouldn't mind the program going longer.
"I think a lot of us wish they would extend it again, but so far we haven't heard anything and I think it's a little late now for them to come up with some kind of extension. But you never know, it's not midnight yet," joked Stibora.
According to the National Association of Realtors, the tax credit is projected to have added 2 million first-time buyers in 2009 and close to a million in 2010.
