A full house is expected Monday night at Huntsville city hall when a longtime police officer speaks out on his recent firing.
Former Captain Wes Altom was dismissed from duty April 9 after 21 years with the Huntsville Police Department. He is exercising his option to have a public hearing in front of the city council to appeal his termination. It will take place at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.
Altom's attorney says his client has a spotless service record that includes exemplary evaluations and commendations.
Altom was let go by city manager Bill Bain who refuses to comment on the matter.
