LODI, Ohio (AP) - The sting of a yellow jacket has killed a state trooper in Ohio.
Jack Holland Junior was sitting at his desk in the State Highway Patrol building south of Cleveland Tuesday afternoon when the wasp stung him. Authorities say it caused a severe reaction that killed him.
Paramedics rushed the officer to the emergency room of a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Holland was 45 and was a 19-year veteran of the State Highway Patrol. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
