Fees for parks in College Station are going up, though not as much as originally proposed.
At Thursday night's city council meeting, the vote was 4-3 in favor of basing fees on an estimated land value of $24,000 per acre. That's up from the $20,000 figure set back in 2002, but lower than the $30,000 figure proposed earlier in the evening.
The council also decided in the same vote to remove fees associated with neighborhood parks.
Developers spoke out against a major increase, saying they shouldn't have to foot the bill for park development.
