Transportation was the talking point in a meeting of local leaders and their congressional rep.
Chet Edwards met with the mayors of Bryan and College Station and Brazos County's judge, along with officials at the Texas Transportation Institute to discuss the growing need for funding in the region.
Over the past two years, Edwards has secured a million dollars for the Transportation Management Center, which is a cooperative effort between the Twin Cities, Brazos County, and TTI.
"It's critical that we put a top priority on transportation funding that will impact economic growth and the quality of life for every family in the Brazos Valley," Edwards (D-District 17) said.
The latest funding secured for the Transportation Management Center will go towards finding ways to plan for future growth and reduce road congestion.
