No Charges for Teen in Friend's Skateboarding Death

FLOWER MOUND, Texas — Authorities said they won't file charges against a teenage driver who ran over his friend as the friend was being towed for a skateboard stunt.

Kyle Darroca, 15, of Lewisville, died August 22 shortly after he was run over. He had been holding onto the side of his friend's moving Ford Explorer to gain speed for a skateboarding trick, police said.

Jamie Beck, Denton County first assistant district attorney, did not give a reason for the decision. Kyle's parents had requested that the driver not be charged.

The 16-year-old driver was not named because of his age.
