TV Stars Light Up Navasota ISD

Some big names were in Grimes County Thursday night, all in the name of education.

Television personalities Chuck Norris and Jim McIngvale (also known as "Mattress Mac") were on hand for a fundraiser for the Navasota school district Thursday evening. The two, known for their philanthropic work, addressed a sold-out crowd at the Grimes County Fairgrounds for the second annual Navasota ISD Education Foundation dinner.

The fundraiser draws on the donations of community members to support new and innovative teaching programs within the district.

With ticket sales alone, it is estimated the dinner raised approximately $22,500.
