Navasota Opens Rattler Stadium

Navasota residents and football enthusiasts came out Friday night in support of the high school football team as they opened the brand new, state-of-the-art Rattler Stadium.

Artificial field turf of the quality used in collegiate and professional teams is one of the most noticable features of the new facility, along with the video scoreboard.

Rattler Stadium was made possible through a $25 million bond issue passed by Navasota voters in 2005.

Previously, Navasota High School had played at Brule Field. The first game played there was in the 1930s.

The Rattlers opened their new stadium in style, as they defeated Hempstead 43-0.
