MIAMI -- A tropical storm watch has been posted for portions of the coasts of South Carolina and North Carolina.
The National Hurricane Center says Subtropical Storm Gabrielle has formed. At 11 p.m. Eastern time, Gabrielle had top sustained winds near 45 miles per hour and was centered about 385 miles southeast of Cape Lookout, North Carolina.
A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area within the next 36 hours.
