It's a party celebrating two Texas Reds; Steak and Wine and there's still time to eat and drink.

More than 25,000 people are expected to be in Downtown Bryan for the 4th annual Texas Reds Steak and Grape Festival.

It's an event where you should show up thirsty and hungry.

This year's Texas Reds Steak and Grape Festival is expected to be bigger than ever.

It's become an annual tradition for Lisa Kenappick and her family.

"Actually all of it, the wine tasting and he's a big Kevin Fowler fan, so this year was extra special, and drug my niece along this year," said Lisa Kenappick of Huntsville.

"Oh yeah, we have a good time, I actually find a few wines over here that we like, we make a weekend out of it, we come get a hotel room and go back to the pool, go back to the concert, we have a good time," said Bryan Lucas, Lisa Kenappick's fiance.

It's also one of the best weekends of the year for downtown businesses including at Must Be Heaven, where folks came in droves to recharge and refresh out of the heat.

"Just some cooler food, lighter food for a hot day," said Donna Morrow, owner of Must Be Heaven.

Morrow said Saturday's crowds are two to three times busier than normal.

"Yes, we're happy about Texas Reds, it brings, a lot of business to downtown and a lot of attention to downtown Bryan area, it's definitely a big boost in business for this weekend," Morrow added.

Kelly Locke and his cookers are the defending champions this year for the steak cook-off.

"We used to do some catering and do it for money, we kind of got away from that and so we go to little festivals like this for fun, it's just something we love to do, we love to cook a lot of food for a lot of people, we're a great team and we cook all kind of things, love doing it, it's fun," said Kelly Locke, of the Lone Star Loco Cook-Off Team.

A lot of fun for competitors and customers alike

"It's a great event, everybody out to come on out, there's a lot of great steaks to eat and we'd love to serve you," Locke said.

Events continue Saturday night with the Tejas Brothers performing at 7:30 followed by headlining act Kevin Fowler at 9:00.

Admission and parking are free.

A free shuttle service is available with parking at Blinn College until 1 AM Sunday morning.
