SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police detective has been arrested for assault after allegedly hitting a man who was dating his ex-wife.

Detective Bryan Baldwin was arrested Wednesday after Rogelio Romero, 32, called and reported that Baldwin hit him in the face several times after he dropped off Baldwin's ex-wife on Sunday.

Baldwin, 33, has been moved to administrative duty, police officials said. He was off-duty at the time of the fight.

Baldwin is the second San Antonio police detective arrested in the last several months for assault. Detective Keith Alfaro was arrested and suspended after allegedly beating a woman who asked him to put out his cigar at a community pool in July.
