Interim City Manager Named in Madisonville

A familiar name in Madisonville will fill the role as interim city manager once again.

Dave Ward was named to the post at this week's city council meeting. He is a former Madisonville city councilman and retired car dealer.

Ward agreed to serve as interim city manager for the next six months while the city searches for a permanent replacement. He served the role in 2003 when then-City Manager Jim White died.

Ruth Smith had been filling the vacancy since Tom Ginter's resignation in February. Earlier this month, it was decided that Smith would no longer serve as interim city manager. She has gone back to her job as director of finance.
