The opening of a Hooters Restaurant in Bryan hinges on it getting a liquor license. That decision now rests in the hands of an administrative judge.
A hearing to decide if Hooters gets a liquor license wrapped up late Thursday at the State Office of Administrative Hearings in Waco. Local opponents of the restaurant opening in Bryan testified the liquor license should be denied because Hooters exploits women. Hooters maintains it's simply a restaurant with a long track record in Texas.
Both sides will make their final arguments in writing October 5. A ruling is expected by November.
