Nurses at one Brazos Valley hospital help bring home an impressive award.
The Texas Nursing Association awarded the College Station Medical Center with a Nurse Friendly Designation.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Austin this week.
The Med's Chief Nursing Officer Sherri Welch said a nurse's work atmosphere can make all the difference in the type of care a hospital provides.
"If nurses are working in an environment where they're happy, they feel valued and supported then they're going to stay with you," Welch said. "And if they're happy then we have good patient outcomes, good quality and a great place for our patients to come."
"The Med" is one among 49 Texas hospitals to receive this designation.
