BRYAN, TX -- Texas A&M is saying a deal was made and are going to hold the Big 12 to its promise.

Back in June - Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas were all promised at least a 20 million dollar pay out, when the TV revenue checks are cut following competition of the 2012 - 2013 school year, to remain in the Big 12.

There are now various media outlets reporting that the Longhorns and Sooners appreciated the offer by the other member schools to remain in the league, but aren't worried about the money now.

That sentiment is not shared by Texas A&M.

In a statement released this evening by Texas A&M University President Dr. R. Bowen Loftin:

"A key part of Texas A&M's decision to remain in the Big 12 earlier this summer was the Commissioner's commitment that Texas A&M would receive a minimum of $20 million annually in future conference distributions. We remain committed to the conference and fully anticipate that the Big 12 will honor its commitment to Texas A&M. "

I don't see why this is getting so blown out of shape. A deal is a deal. A&M needs the money and if getting it is important to them then pay them like you said you would Big 12. A&M will look like the bad guy at the end of the day, but there is nothing wrong with them taking the money IMHO.

Yea its pretty bad when you have to borrow from the other departments of the university to keep up with the big boys and then get in the hole. Yea i'd cry to too for the money.

First an foremost Loftin is a fat cat who makes to much money off of Aggies football like all the regents the men who sacrafice sweat and blood to play football are the ones who deserve more in the long run not the fat cats. Lets stand behind our Aggies Football players and demand better coaching to bring Texas A&M a National title with the moneys coming in from TV revenues. Do not let Fat cats do as they please since we will never see their sweat and blood on Kyle feild. GIG UM AGGIES
