A&M Athletics Director Talks About Aggie Success in SEC

Texas A&M's Athletics Director Monday night addressed a group of the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce Inner Circle with some thoughts on A&M athletics success this school year.

Eric Hyman addressed members at A&M's Rudder Auditorium with questions from TexAgs.com writer and co-owner Billy Luicci.

Hyman was named A&M's Athletics Director last year after Bill Byrne's resignation.

He says going into last weekend all A&M teams, with the exception of one, were ranked in the top 25.

He answered questions about A&M's significant impact in its first year in the Southeastern Conference.

And he also talked about plans for an SEC Network and what that could do, not only financially, but in recruiting athletes.

Hyman said, "You're seeing people now growing up SEC fans, the same exposure you're getting with television, which is a game changer for the SEC and for our student athletes and our coaches."

Hyman told the audience of mostly business people that even though A&M athletics is an $86-million-dollar business, his department and the university still have a responsibilty to student athletes and their parents that the academic experience will make them better.
